Questo lavoro vuole essere inmnanzitutto un omaggio a quelli che sono stati in assoluto i maestri che mi hanno dato di più nel mio lavoro compositivo e concertistico in tutti questi anni. Ho voluto mettere il mio mondo di oggi a confronto con quello che ho vissuto da ragazzo, quello che mi ha dato tutto l’entusiasmo musicale che ancora oggi mi brucia dentro. È vero, quando ero ragazzo, ascoltavo e suonavo questa musica in modo del tutto incosciente e senza capirne ancora i significati e le forme, ma la curiosità, il piacere e lo slancio, la costanza nella ricerca sono nati proprio lì.
Abbiamo cercato di “fare nostra” questa musica, riscrivendola per gli strumenti acustici che usiamo normalmente nelle nostre composizioni e nei concerti, a volte distanziandoci anche sensibilmente dalle melodie e dalle armonie originali, ma restando sempre fedeli allo spirito che li caratterizza. Un lungo lavoro di confronto, di discussioni, di sperimentazioni, alla ricerca di quel giusto e difficile equilibrio che desse piacere ad entrambi.

This, my most recent work, is first and foremost a tribute to the masters, those who have been the ultimate inspiration for my musical accomplishments, both in composing and performing, throughout my career. It is a comparison of my world of today with that of my youth, where the passion and enthusiasm for music began, and still burns deep within me today.
As a teenager, I listened and played this music with a carefree spirit, unaware of it’s true meaning or musical relevance; but the curiosity, the pleasure, the desire to continually explore music, were born here, in this period of my innocence… my youth.
We tried to make this our music, rewriting it for the acoustic instruments we use in our arrangements and performances, sometimes straying from the original harmonies and melodies, but always staying faithful to the spirit that embodies them.
This collaboration was a long journey, a road of discussion, experimentation and confrontation. It was a quest to find the perfect balance, an equilibrium satisfying and pleasing to us both.
